If you’ve been in touch with us for free debt advice, chances are you’ve come into contact with some of our debt advisors and other frontline colleagues before. But what about all the other people working behind the scenes?
Over 1,400 people work here at StepChange Debt Charity but not all of them are debt advisors. Here’s a closer look at some of the people who make sure the charity keeps to its own high standards, engages with the media and continues to deliver offer free, expert advice to the people that need it.
Nick in our Quality Assurance team
Last year over half a million people got in touch with us for help. With so many conversations happening over the phone and online, it’s important for us to make sure we’re giving the best advice every time. Our Quality Assurance team make sure we’re maintaining our high standards.
Sarah in our Digital team
The Digital team look after the StepChange Debt Charity website, our online Debt Remedy tool, as well as social media and your favourite blog. Ahem. As well as writing loads of wonderful money-saving articles for MoneyAware and being all sociable online, our team includes digital designers who make sure things work well and look nice.
There are also digital analysts like Sarah who manage projects that improve the service we can provide online.
Lucia in our Training team
With so many people at the charity, it’s vital we all have the right training to be able to do our jobs. Lucia is one of eight trainers at the charity, giving debt advice training to our frontline teams, charity inductions to new-starters, running skills sessions with managers and plenty more.
Despite being so busy, somehow Lucia always manages to find the time to give other people a hand. You might have seen her in one of our recent videos. What a star!
Michael in our Advice team
The laws around debt are changing all the time, and the debt experts in our Advice team make sure we’re all up-to-date and understand how any changes could affect our clients. They keep us on our toes, working hard to make sure nothing is missed!
Ed in our Media team
Our media team works to raise the profile of the charity to ensure that as many people as possible are aware of the work we do. As well as raising awareness of the charity and its services the team work with the media to highlight issues of concern for people in debt and the work we do in campaigning for change.
If you ever spot a story about us in the paper, it’s likely Ed and his team were behind it!
